Founders
Tony and Maryann Pallotto are planning the TAPS 3RD
Annual Coast2Coast Awareness Run in hope of raising
funds to continue serving families as they have for
the past 17 years. TAPS has helped over 16,000 families
since 1995.
Tony and Maryann Pallotto are gearing up for another long road trip on a Harley Davidson (from Biggs Harley Davidson). It is part of their ongoing quest to keep troubled teens and preteens from crashing and burning. On August 20, 2011, the couple is planning their Coast2Coast Awareness Run to roll out of New Haven, Connecticut, near where the Pallottos grew up. TAPS will be raffling tickets for a 2011 Harley Davidson Dyna-Wide Glide.
The fundraiser’s destination is 3,450 miles to Oceanside, CA, TAPS’ home base. Connecticut is where Tony’s only two brothers (Michael and Jimmy) died because of heroin abuse. Intravenous heroin use also killed one of the Pallottos’ three sons (Mark Richard). Like her husband, Maryann’s youngest brother, George, struggled with drugs and alcohol that began in his teens. He attempted suicide by shooting himself in the head. He survived, but needs 24-hour care.
"Many parents of troubled teens don’t know where to turn for help or lack the skills to deal with these issues. The destruction of the family is widespread and the effects can last a lifetime."
TAPS’ primary mission is to help families heal and avert tragedies like those that have racked their family. TAPS is also expanding its efforts to include interdiction of young teens out of sex trafficking.
Please help us continue this work by donating to Teen Adolescent Placement Services. We are a public benefit charity 501-C-3 non-profit corporation.
